'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' races towards the Rs 100-crore mark at the domestic box office while last week's releases prove to be damp squibs
Last week's three releases met with near-apocalyptic audience response, marking a disastrous end to a month which saw three big hits - 'Gabbar Is Back', 'Piku' and 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns'.
Arshad Warsi and Jackky Bhagnani-starrer 'Welcome To Karachi' had a dull opening followed by an equally dull weekend (total Rs 5.50 crore).
'Ishqedarriyaan' and 'P Se PM Tak', on the other hand, struggled to find takers.
Says trade expert Amod Mehra,
"All three films bombed at the box
office. Welcome To Karachi did
some business, which isn't enough to be termed as average. The other two films could not collect even respectable figures."
