The show is produced by Ekta Kapoor under her banner Balaji Telefilms. The show is loosely based on the novel Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen.
Continuing her tradition, Ekta Kapoor has named the series starting with the letter k because she feels it is lucky.She called it a passionate love story. The Show cloned Top 5 Best Series.
Reception
Initially started with low ratings, the show climbed to Top 5 most watched shows across all GEC's and second most watched show of Zee TV after few weeks of its launch and was touted as the biggest fiction launch of 2014.
The show was subject to a heavy marketing campaign,topped the trp chart and saw a spike in viewership after the marriage of Pragya and Abhi,during their kidnapping and after starting of their love story.
It is popular worldwide and in Pakistan it airs on Geo Kahani the series along with two other shows of same production company, Ye Hai Mohabbatein, and Jodha Akbar is among top 5 Indian shows of 2014/15 in Pakistan and from 2015 it said that it's ratings are increasing more then the previous ones which were also quit high.
